A new lift-equipped wheelchair van provides daily transportation for Jewish Association for Community Living residents living with developmental disabilities, thanks to multiple grants recommended by Donor Advised Fund holders at the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford. Residents use the van for medical appointments, community events, grocery shopping and other errands.
“When we asked Donor Advised Fund holders to help defray the cost of the wheelchair van, they ended up funding the entire cost of $53,000,” says Michael Elfenbaum, Vice President of Grant Programs at the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford.
“Replacing our eight-year-old wheelchair van was at the top of our wish list, and we could not have done it without Donor Advised Fund grants,” says Denis Geary, Executive Director, Jewish Association for Community Living. “We are so thankful for this support.”
