Fitting in or standing out? As a kid I just wanted to fit in, blend in with the crowd. I remember begging for Guess jeans, Tretorn sneakers, and slouchy socks. Growing up a first generation American, my parents spoke Italian at home but I always responded in English.

When I started keeping a bullet journal in July 2017, I decided to include a gratitude page. Nearly a year and a half into this daily routine, I have hundreds of gratitude entries. It’s nice to look back and have a record of what it was I felt gratitude for on a particular day.

My sister and I were recently waiting in line in a restroom watching a mother help her two young children wash their hands. The restroom did not have paper towels so the mother was demonstrating to the little ones how to shake their hands dry.
