Israeli Girls Advance Opportunities through the Lillian Fund

Underprivileged young Israeli women will benefit from greater employment and earning opportunities for years to come, thanks to a $7,000 grant voted on by participants in the Lillian Fund. Bayit Lepletot - Girls Town Jerusalem (GTJ) is home to 600 at-risk homeless girls and orphans from all backgrounds – veteran Israelis and new immigrants, Sephardic and Ashkenazi, Yemenite and Ethiopian. GTJ provides comprehensive support for the girls, including education to harness the girls’ desire to succeed and break the cycle of poverty.

The grant from the Lillian Fund will support updated software and computers for advanced computer and graphic design studies.

The Lillian Fund is a giving circle, creating the opportunity for donors to come together to vote on and make grants. Connecting through giving – and then seeing the impact of their gifts – is one of the most exciting parts of the Lillian Fund. Participants also explore trends and discuss issues affecting women and girls locally and around the world.

The Lillian Fund is open to new participants at any time. For more information, contact Jessica Slater at (860) 523-7460 or
