We were both raised in Jewish homes with our mothers being the dominant influences in our religious lives. Of course there were frequent family visits, holiday celebrations, Jewish food, and humor.

As we got older, there was increasing involvement in Jewish organizations and then when we started raising our three children we made sure they got a proper religious education. As co-founders of Temple Beth David in Cheshire we began to feel the sense of community that involvement gave us.

We have been members of Congregation Beth Israel since 1991 and have the same feeling of family. Although we are much older now, we are better able to provide a legacy to our community so that we can contribute to future generations of Jews. We believe that we should all help those who come after us as did those who came before us.

We should all do as much as we are able, not because we have to, but because we want to. We are excited about our legacy gift to Congregation Beth Israel.
